“The beauty is as useful as the usefullness” (Victor Hugo).
This sentence has always enthralled Helga Stermann, member of the owner-family of SCHNEIDERS VIENNA GMBH. What about combining both, beauty and usefulness, classic Viennese tradition and today’s casualness?
In 1986, she made her dream come true – VER SACRUM WIEN, as production-line follows the concept of combining Josef Hoffmann’s timeless and elegant ART NOUVEAU-design with outstanding craftsmanship and practicality. This carefully designed fashion-line, which stands for durability as well as beauty, soon became popular arond the globe.
Josef Hoffman (1870-1956), architect and designer of consumer goods, was one oft he founders of vienna Secession in 1897 and the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903 together with Koloman Moster, Gustav Klimt.
Have a look threw the different collections of VER SACRUM WIEN, which in a cheeky way translate the style of ART NOUVEAU into „Zeitgeist“-fashion and prove once again that beauty and usefulness don’t exlude one another.
